Kara holds a master’s degree in social work from Loyola University. She is experienced in mental health counseling, disabilities, behavioral therapy, Nurturing Parenting, child trauma and family services. Kara has worked with DCFS and served as the Director of Family Services for three years in Northwest Indiana, overseeing mental health, disabilities, and case management. She is a licensed social worker in the state of Illinois and has worked as a school therapist for two years, where she work hands on with children aged 5-13.Additionally, she is certified in the Nurturing Parenting Program (NPP), and experienced in helping parents build nurturing parenting skills and healthy child-rearing practices. Kara uses an integrative approach to provide counseling services for young children, adolescents, adults and couples.

As a therapist, Kara is passionate about helping clients foster self-awareness and gain insight into their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. She employs a strength-based perspective to help clients build their own sense of self-esteem, worth, and personal power.
