My name is Jasmine Young, and I am a compassionate, dedicated, and career-driven Licensed Social Worker (LSW) committed to empowering individuals and families through advocacy and therapeutic support. I recently earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Delaware State University in May 2025, graduating with a 3.7 GPA, and hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Governors State University, where I began my undergraduate studies at bachelor’s degree in psychology Alabama A&M University.
My professional background includes internships at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center, where I supported justice-involved youth, and Fresenius Medical Group, where I worked with patients undergoing dialysis treatment. For the past 2.5 years, I have served as a Victim Advocate Case Worker with Cook County Social Services, providing direct advocacy and therapeutic support for women of diverse ethnic backgrounds, particularly survivors and current victims of domestic violence. In this role, I have worked extensively with LGBTQ+ individuals, women with children, and families, while also providing family therapy and support for individuals living with bipolar disorder, depression, personality disorders, obsessive tendencies, and other mental health concerns.
I bring experience in addressing abuse, relationship challenges, women’s issues, depression, dating, substance use and addiction, sexuality, school-related stressors, couples counseling, and individual therapy. My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, which I adapt to meet the unique needs of each client. My philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing when supported in a safe, collaborative, and empathetic environment. I view my clients as the experts of their own lives and strive to empower them to build on their strengths, develop coping skills, and create lasting, positive change.
